We can't call them toilets, we can't call them johns, and we can't call them water closets. But they sit on the first floor of most buildings where there is just a hole that lets down into the sewer. Most of the year they just fill up with @&*%, and eventually there's a rainstorm that floods the sewers and drives the waste down into the underground.
Where the Drow and KarDaHee get rained on. LOL. If you wondered why they were so pissed off, now you know. Anyway, we need something to call them. I've been calling the rooms the "night chamber" for a while. I think I may also have used "honey hole" to indicate the toilet itself. If you have a good made up term that fits here, post a reply. After a week or two I'll put them up for a vote. Thanks. (at last a valid use for this horse!) -------------------- "You gotta know what you don't know."

Here in the south there's a bit of a discussion about the term Pecan (the nut). Some say Pee-can. Other say Pe-cahn. I personally think if you say it the first way, (pee-can) that it's what you keep by the side of your bed (an old coffee can works well!) to use in the middle of the night in case of emergencies, and the other pronunciation is the right one.
Anyway...enough southern trivia, how about "The HOLE." LOL Almost said in a whispered way like it's a dirty word or something. I would suggest Pecan (pee-can) but there's no such word at this time. Or we could use for human's at least..."elven treasure," or "magic hole" (seems that crap just keep disappearing down there). -------------------- Brenna
When I read a book I seem to read it with my eyes only, but now and then I come across a passage, perhaps only a phrase, which has a meaning for me, and it becomes part of me. W. Somerset Maugham, 'Of Human Bondage', 1915 "I can only spell the words I know how to spell." My daughter Emma, explaining to her brother why she's a bad speller. 5-27-06 There's no *I* in TEAM, but there is in WIN! Bren's journal |

A terribly important term to know, yes, quite urgent. We must settle this, or dreadful things might happen in RP, such as somebody having to say, "Well, love to chat some more, but I gotta go to the, the, erm, you know, that thing, you know what I'm talking about, don't you? No not that thing, the other thing." Dreadful misunderstandings could arise...Lol.
Perhaps something like the perfumed circle? Or maybe the fragrant pit. I do like magic hole, though...hmm... -------------------- ![]() Sumdood's official gross post award, given to Reilin and I for the Booger Love post. Hahah! Excellent! I'd say Lavatory would be a good one. Or, taking from UK slang: The Bog. -------------------- |
